About me
I’m a landscape photographer based in Ranfurly, capturing the quiet beauty and changing seasons of Central Otago. My work is inspired by frosty mornings, snow-covered hills, remote high-country scenes, and the stillness that comes with life in a rural landscape.
I’m drawn to simplicity, atmosphere, and natural light — often focusing on moments that feel calm, timeless, and understated. From isolated huts and winter reflections to minimalist alpine scenes, my photography is about slowing down and noticing the details that are often overlooked.
All of my photographs are professionally printed using high-quality materials and carefully presented, with many pieces produced in limited or small runs. My work has been recognised through both national and international photography awards and is held in private collections in New Zealand and overseas. I hold a Diploma of Photography (2021), which helped refine my technical skills and creative approach.
Through Amy Hughes Photography, I aim to preserve fleeting moments in time and share the stories of Central Otago — just as I see and experience them.
